Tell us a bit about yourself:
What are you passionate about in life, and who are you professionally?

Hi, I’m Sonia, and I’ve been an architect for over 10 years. I studied in Italy but moved to France right after graduating: Paris, Lyon, and now Nice. I’ve explored many aspects of this profession: collaborating with firms of various sizes, managing construction projects ranging from small to large-scale developments, and even working in the high-end luxury market, where I played a key role in a unique project alongside internationally renowned star architects.
It was during that experience, three years ago, that I realized I wanted something more, a different, more authentic approach to design and its final outcome. So, I started studying the psychology of living spaces, and a year ago, I founded Maison Toi. My mission is to create living spaces that are true havens, places where you can return and feel embraced. Every project introduces me to new stories; it’s always a fresh adventure!

What does colour mean to you, and how did you use it before discovering the RAH method?

As an architect, colour has always been an essential part of my projects. Before the RAH method, I would try to explore my clients’ preferences, reconcile the opinions of different family members, and often encounter the classic “fear” of colour. This fear led many to favour white, with perhaps a timid touch of colour, out of a fear of making mistakes. Now, with the RAH method, I can finally help my clients to dare and not be afraid of embracing happiness!

Quale valore intendi offrire ai tuoi clienti attraverso il tuo lavoro?

I aim to provide a method that combines technical support during the design and construction phases with the psychology of living spaces. This approach goes beyond mere functional needs and fleeting aesthetic trends. It’s a journey of self-discovery to uncover one’s unique and personal way of inhabiting a space. I don’t offer a picture-perfect house; I offer a happy home!

Finally, your personal thoughts: what hopes do you have for the future of your field?

I wish for greater awareness about the act of inhabiting, a process we’ve all engaged in for centuries, yet often unconsciously. The home is our nest and our second skin; it’s much more than just a container!

How has the RAH method transformed your approach to design?

The RAH method is the perfect complement to my approach, which combines design with the psychology of living spaces. It allows me to easily identify positive associations in the form of colours and translate them into the home’s spaces, it’s almost magical! This way, you can be sure that the created environment will be truly stimulating and, most importantly, authentic. It’s not dictated by current trends but is instead a true reflection of its inhabitants. And that perfectly aligns with my mission!
